The building accommodates a 17 storey office tower with A3 retail at ground floor. It is sited on Windmill Street, bordering a plaza containing two nationally significant buildings. This plaza is currently a poorly defined, ‘void’ urban public space that poorly relates to the rest of the city centre.
Our urban strategy proposes to create a line of relatively tall buildings along Windmill Street to provide better enclosure to the Plaza.
The building expresses its service core on its western side. The office space is fully glazed, with a layer of solar protecting louvers sitting in front of it.
