house 7395

This bespoke contemporary home was built on the outskirts of a popular conservation area in rural Cheshire.

The massing has been influenced by the topography of the sloping site.  The design is contemporary and of its time, but still nestles sensitively in its surroundings.  The base of the building is a rustic drystone wall, using locally sourced Kerridge stone, giving it a clear solidity and grounding into the landscape.  In contrast, the ground floor is a crisp Jura limestone element punctuated with glass and timber sliding screens.  A patinated copper roof cradles the first floor master suite.
