The Aytoun Street site is part of the boundary of the dense urban grain of central Manchester. The loose grid of street blocks and wide main roads forming identifiable city-blocks breaks down at this boundary.
The residential element of the masterplan takes advantage of the relative quiet, southerly aspect and pleasant views at the south western corner of the site whilst on a site adjacent to major public transport interchanges, the call centre design makes a virtue of the irregularly shaped site to provide large floor plates not normally found in the city centre sites.
